A touch of green evokes feelings of prosperity and progress, both to the body and mind.

More so to the human soul.

So how come green?  One may philosophize.  Is it not a metal year, so why not gold or silver? In feng shui, metal is not depicted by gold or silver.  White is the color of metal.   Yes, white is also the lucky color of the year but it has to be balanced by its countervailing element of wood which is represented by the green color.  Thus, go green for good health, good luck and prosperity in the Metal Tiger Year.

Green color recommendations range from the subtle delights of crystal green in aquamarine relaxing moods, to the masculine moss green or algae citrus tints.  And to the jaded green of antiquity combined with celadon for exquisite Asian touchpoints.  But most vibrant of all is the springtime color vibrancy of chartreuse green,  the ripe avocado green appeal as found in Silk Thai in Serendra at the Fort and Terrace at the Fifth in Greenbelt 5 or L’Allegro guitar shop at Paseo de Santa Rosa on your way to Tagaytay.

Growth is the underlying symbolism of green and with it comes prosperity.

Of course, because of this magical attributes many a viewer of green decor turns green with envy! Interior design marries feng shui in this respect for elemental color harmony.  Light and shade tones of green may be appliquéd to walls, ceilings or floors.  Then curtains, furniture and of course it is all in the mind, a green mind to go environmental friendly in creativity.

Go Green & White in 2010...

Indoor and outdoor landscape with pocket gardens and auspicious plants or paintings and objects d art cap this year’s lucky pursuits in the use of color.  Green plants like ferns, and most auspiciously the now ever getting popular “welcome” plant called samia.  Nowadays its samia adornment galore for foyers, entrances and living rooms with its comely and juicy leaves outstretched in welcoming gestures.  Welcoming prosperity and good chi feng shui into one’s home or office.  To extremes, particularly for overseas workers’ families, it would not be surprising to see greenbucks   or US dollar wallpapers, furniture and throw pillows, clocks and of late bed comforters, bed sheets and pillowcases just to attract more dollar incomes and remittances to loved ones or even loved once.

On the personal level, fashionista greens are in especially make up as eye shadow  and on strictly political or business level: use green ink in making corporate identity programs (uniforms, signages, logos, business cards and letterheads) and last but not least sign in green!  Yes proposals, and checks become auspicious.  Even for those who endeavour to go abroad, green is their passport to fortune when it comes to embassy matters of interviews and getting visas.  Verde in Spanish,  green is it.  Green is in for 2010 even for fashion and cars.
